About the App

MyLibrary helps you organize your book collection with ease. Add books via barcode scanning, track reading status, manage loans to friends, and keep a wishlist – all privately on your device.


How to Use


Adding Books

1. Barcode Scan: Tap "Add" → "Scan Barcode" → Point camera at book's ISBN barcode

2. Batch Scan: Tap "Add" → "Batch Scan" → Continuously scan multiple books

3. ISBN Search: Tap "Add" → "ISBN Search" → Enter ISBN manually

4. Text Search: Tap "Add" → "Text Search" → Search by title, author, or keyword

5. Manual Entry: Tap "Add" → "Manual Entry" → Fill in book details yourself


Managing Your Collection

• Organize books by custom locations (e.g., "Living Room Shelf", "Office")

• Assign personal categories to group similar items

• Track reading status: Unread, Reading, or Completed

• Add personal ratings and notes


Lending Tracker

• Record who borrowed which book and when

• Set due dates and receive overdue reminders

• Manage borrower contact information


Wishlist

• Save books you want to purchase

• Set priority levels to plan your next buy


Backup & Export

• Settings → Backup & Restore → Backup to create a JSON file

• Export your collection as PDF catalog or CSV spreadsheet

• Share backup files via AirDrop, email, or cloud storage

How to use:

1. Export your library: MyLibrary app → Settings → Backup & Restore → Backup

2. Visit the web viewer link above in any browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox)

3. Click "Open JSON File" and select your backup file

4. Browse your entire collection, wishlist, loans, and borrowers on a large screen

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)


Q: Is my data safe?

A: Yes! All your data is stored locally on your device only. We don't collect, sync, or transmit any personal information. Your library is 100% private.


Q: Do I need to create an account?

A: No. MyLibrary works completely offline without any account or login required.


Q: What happens to my data if I delete the app?

A: All data will be permanently deleted. We strongly recommend creating a backup (Settings → Backup & Restore → Backup) before uninstalling.


Q: How do I transfer my library to a new device?

A: Create a backup on your old device, transfer the JSON file to your new device (via AirDrop, email, or cloud storage), then restore it in the app (Settings → Backup & Restore → Restore).


Q: Which book databases does the app use?

A: MyLibrary fetches book information from Google Books, Naver Books (Korean), OpenBD (Japanese), and Open Library – all automatically based on ISBN.


Q: Can I use the app without an internet connection?

A: Yes! All your saved books are available offline. Internet is only needed when searching for new books to add.


Q: How do I cancel my Premium subscription?

A: Go to iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → MyLibrary → Cancel Subscription.
